  • General


    - Gameforge Login Integration – Players can now log into Guardians of Ember using their Gameforge account. For old accounts please follow the migration instructions in the new launcher when you log in with your old account credentials.

    - The Guardians of Ember logo has been exchanged with a new and shiny version

    - Text Fonts used in the game have been changed for better readability

    - Pressing the “Report a bug” button in the ESC menu will now open http://guardiansofember.support.gameforge.com/ in your browser


    Gameplay


    - Increased chance for stronger enemies to appear in the following dungeons: Bloodaxe Hideout, Blacktooth Hideout, Rattlejaw Hideout, Watery Caves, Ironspine Brotherhood Base, Cankered Hollow

    - A new teleportation NPC has been added and will allow you to quickly teleport between important locations in New Ku’dan Bazaar District and New Ku’dan Upper Town – you will be able to recognize the NPC by the teleport icon above their head

    - The tutorial has received several changes regarding tooltips and popups

    - Several tooltips have been added to introduce new game mechanics in a better way

    - After gathering feedback from our players, we decided to remove the option to skip to Level 20 directly after the tutorial

    - Until receiving a rework, the “Iron Hero” challenge item has been temporarily disabled

    - When entering a dungeon, only the easiest difficulty will be available. Successfully completing the dungeon on that difficulty will unlock entry to the next highest difficulty

    - A message will be displayed upon clearing the first dungeon to let players know about the exit portal to quickly leave dungeons

    - The quest “Leaderless” in Crushbone Flats has been reworked to improve the gameplay experience

    - Added an option to disable mouse movement. By default, mouse movement is enabled.

    - The default setting for showing item names of loot has been changed to permanently show the item names. This can be changed in the game options at any time.

    - Respawn penalties have been changed: Respawning at the zone respawn point now incurs a 20% equipment durability penalty, and respawning in the city now incurs a 30% equipment durability penalty

    - Rare materials to craft legendary equipment no longer drop from dungeons and instead have to be purchased from the Secret Jade merchant

    - Gameplay hints and popups can now be closed via the X button and had their "Next" & "Back" buttons renamed.

    - The boss fight area in the tutorial will now function as an enclosed arena to make the fight more challenging

    - By default, the option to assign skills to the hotbar will now be unlocked

    - When unlocking a new skill, it will now automatically be slotted on the hotbar if space is available

    - The quest introducing fishing has been slightly reworked and will now automatically equip the fishing pole and bait upon acquisition. The Quest NPC will supply players with more bait in case they run out


    Characters Creation and Classes


    - During class selection players will get a preview of each class’s gameplay and theme through preview animations

    - During class selection players can see each class wearing endgame equipment as a preview

    - Rules for valid character names are now shown during the last step of character creation

    - Players will now get a warning before leaving the character creation process to avoid the accidental loss of character customization

    - Deleting a character is now instant, instead of requiring a 24-hour waiting period

    - The navigation of the Character Creation process has been made easier as you can now navigate via the progress bar on the top left side of the screen; additionally, the “Next/Previous” Step buttons have been made more prominent

    - Players no longer need to select a gender for Dwarves or Neia

    - Class descriptions will now give you an overview of how difficult the class is to play for solo- and teamplay and overall difficulty

    - A tooltip to let you know about zooming and rotating your character during the Character Creation has been added

    - If an account has no characters yet, the game will now start the Character Creation process directly from the first startup


    Visuals:


    - Removed redundant graphic settings

    - New enemy variations have been added to the following dungeons: Bloodaxe Hideout, Blacktooth Hideout, Rattlejaw Hideout

    - The following dungeons have received additional decorations to feel more unique and alive: Assembly Hall, Wrath Lord’s Fall, Bloodaxe Hideout, Blacktooth Hideout, Rattlejaw Hideout, Crooked Tunnel, Watery Caves, Ironspine Brotherhood Base, Abandoned Mine, Cankered Hollow, Blackgrime Caverns, Putrid Cavern, Goblin Burrows, Western Caves, Putrid Hollow, Frozen Reach, Glacier Catacombs

    - Reduced the frequency in which a “Wait for Cooldown” reminder was displayed on screen when using skills in quick succession

    - Enemy mobs have decided to go out with a bang and increased their chance to die in an extraordinarily gruesome way

    - You will now get a tooltip with item information when hovering over an item in at NPC vendors

    - A screen-shake option has been added for enhanced effects on critical hits. This is enabled by default but can be disabled in the settings at any time.

    - The display of cutscenes has been fixed for all resolutions

    - The standard zoom setting upon game start has been adjusted to assure a smoother starting experience


    Bugs and Fixes:


    - Fixed an issue that caused some enemies to get stuck and become invincible on their spawn point

    - Fixed an issue that made it difficult for players to reach the quest boss “Gama”

    - Fixed the position of the waypoint in Crushbone Flats to ensure players don’t miss it

    - Fixed several issues concerning in-game texts

    - Fixed the display of icons on the minimap

    - Fixed an issue that caused players to randomly attack objects instead of walking towards them

    - Fixed an issue where respawning in the “Resonance Hall” Dungeon would revive the player outside the map bounds

    - Fixed an error that would prevent players from entering 3v3 arena matches

    - Some recipes for Heavy Armor were moved to the correct crafting categories

    - Some UI elements have been moved or restructured

    - The item tooltip explaining level restrictions has been changed to be more prominent

    - Alt+F4 can now be used to close the game
